After eight year-restoration, the altarpiece of the Adoration of the Mystic Lamb, one of the greatest masterpieces in the history of painting, has finally regained its original splendor. Painted by Hubert and Jan Van Eyck and presented for the first time on May 6, 1432, this monumental painting has never ceased to fascinate the public with its revolutionary realism and infinite wealth of details. This work illustrates, masterfully, the transition from the Middle Ages to modernity. Through a spectacular shootings of the countless images that make up the altarpiece, this documentary offers a dive into the world of the Van Eyck brothers.

Après huit années de restauration, le retable de l’Adoration de l’Agneau mystique, un des plus grands chefs d’œuvre de l’histoire de la peinture, a enfin retrouvé sa splendeur d’origine. Peint par Hubert et Jan Van Eyck et présenté pour la première fois le 6 mai 1432, ce tableau monumental n’a cessé de fasciner le public par son réalisme révolutionnaire et sa richesse infinie de détails. Cette œuvre illustre magistralement le passage du Moyen-Âge vers notre modernité. À travers une spectaculaire mise en scène des innombrables images qui composent le retable, ce documentaire propose une plongée dans l’univers des Van Eyck.
