The film is an in-depth exploration of the work and personality of the sculptor Jaume Plensa. Together with Plensa we visit some of his most representative pieces, sited in public spaces in Spain, France, Sweden, the US, Canada and Japan, on a series of trips that also take in the ideas that nurture his works. We also witness the genesis and construction of a major project for the lobby of a New York skyscraper, the preparations for a retrospective of his work at the MACBA in Barcelona, the inau- guration of a major open-air exhibition in Stock- holm, and the siting of large sculptures in Ma- drid, the island of Porqueroles and, once again, New York.
Le film est une exploration de l’œuvre et de la personnalité du sculpteur espagnol Jaume Plensa. Avec Plensa, nous visitons certaines de ses pièces les plus représentatives, situés dans des espaces publics en Espagne, en France, en Suède, aux États-Unis, au Canada et au Japon, lors d’une série de voyages qui prennent également en compte les idées qui nourrissent ses œuvres. Nous assistons également à la genèse et à la construction d’un projet majeur pour le hall d’entrée d’un gratte-ciel new-yorkais, à la préparation d’une rétrospective de son travail au MACBA de Barcelone, à l’inauguration d’une grande exposition en plein air à Stockholm et à l’implantation de grandes sculptures à Madrid, sur l’île de Porqueroles puis, encore une fois, New York.
