As a sign of recognition for their commitment to building a fairer society, BAFF organizers dedicate an annual prize, the Golden Fireflies Award, to Lebanese women in cinema. Far from glitters and rhinestones, this humble distinction that the organizers of the festival award each year is not a reward, but the expression of sincere thanks for the dedication of women in the construction of a more humane and fairer society. Like fireflies, their battles light up the dark times of the Lebanese people, in search of light, hope, and peace.
