But this was only one part of her art and I began to read her poems and texts and discovered a great writer. Then I studied her thought and I discovered a philosopher so close to the pre-Socratic thinkers and I understood that the whole thing was inextricable and, if words are still meaningful, great. »
FR. Le philosophe et critique d’art français écrit : « J’ai d’abord connu Etel Adnan à travers ses peintures. Mais ce n’était qu’une facette de son art et je me suis mis à lire sa poésie et ses textes en prose et j’ai découvert un grand écrivain. Puis j’ai étudié sa pensée et j’ai découvert une philosophe tellement proche des penseurs pré-socratiques et j’ai compris que l’ensemble faisait un tout indissociables, avec quelque chose, si les mots ont encore un sens, de génial. »

Yves Michaud is a French philosopher and art critic. He has taught philosophy in many French and foreign universities (Paris-Sorbonne, Rouen, Montpellier, Edinburgh, Sao Paulo, UC Berkeley, etc.). Art critic since the late 1970s, he was called upon to run the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1989 to 1996. He wrote about many artists – Viallat, Mitchell, Jaffe, Riopelle, Francis, Clément, etc., etc., etc., etc. – and published several books about philosophy of art. In 2023, he will publish an anthology of Etel Adnan’s poetry, a collection of her poems between 1949 and 2010, in the Poetry collection of Gallimard, and an essay about Etel Ednan’s thought, poetry and painting with the same publisher.
Yves Michaud est philosophe et critique d’art français. Il a enseigné la philosophie dans de nombreuses universités françaises et étrangères (Paris-Sorbonne, Rouen, Montpellier, Edimbourg, Sao Paulo, UC Berkeley, etc.). Critique d’art depuis la fin des années 1970, il a, à ce titre, été appelé à diriger l’école des Beaux-Arts de Paris, de 1989 à 1996. Il a écrit sur de nombreux artistes – Viallat, Mitchell, Jaffe, Riopelle, Francis, Clément, etc., etc. – et a publié plusieurs livres de philosophie de l’art. Il publiera en 2023 une anthologie de la poésie d’Etel Adnan recueillant ses poèmes entre les années 1949 et 2010 dans la collection Poésie chez Gallimard et chez le même éditeur un essai sur la pensée, la poésie et la peinture d’Etel Ednan.
إيف ميشو فيلسوف وناقد فنّيّ فرنسيّ. قام بتدريس الفلسفة في العديد من الجامعات الفرنسية والأجنبية (باريس-السوربون، روان، مونبلييه، إدنبرة، ساو باولو، جامعة كاليفورنيا في بركلي، إلخ). هو ناقد فنّيّ منذ نهاية السبعينيات، وفي هذا الإطار تمّ استدعاؤه لإدارة مدرسة الفنون الجميلة في باريس، من عام ١٩٨٩ إلى عام ١٩٩٦. كتب عن العديد من الفنّانين – Viallat، وMitchell، وJaffe، وRiopelle، وFrancis، وClément، إلخ. – وله عدّة كتب في فلسفة الفنّ. سينشر في عام ٢٠٢٣ مختارات من شعر إيتيل عدنان، جامعًا بذلك قصائدهاالتي صدرت، بين عامي ١٩٤٩ و٢٠١٠، في مجموعة Poésie لدى دار Gallimard. وسينشر، لدى الدار نفسها، مقالًا عن فكر إيتيل عدنان وشعرها ورسومها.
