Choreographer Alexander Ekman and the Royal Swedish Ballet brings us on a dancing journey beyond our own reality. Known for the spectacular quality of his pieces and the oneiric imagery he tends to deploy, Ekman seamlessly takes us from one unlikely situation to the next, thanks to the incredible technical maestria and versatility of the Royal Swedish Ballet dancers. ‘‘I like creating worlds that have never been seen before’’, stated Ekman, without ever sacrificing lyrical beauty and deep contemplation to pointless incongruity.

Le chorégraphe Alexander Ekman et le Ballet royal de Suède nous entraînent dans un voyage dansé au-delà de notre propre réalité. Connu pour la qualité spectaculaire de ses pièces et son imagerie onirique, Ekman nous fait passer sans transition d’une situation improbable à une autre, grâce à l’incroyable dextérité technique et à la polyvalence des danseurs du Ballet royal de Suède. « J’aime créer des mondes qui n’ont jamais été vus auparavant », a déclaré Ekman, sans jamais sacrifier la beauté lyrique et la contemplation profonde à l’incongruité inutile.

Choreographer
Alexander Ekman, born 1984, is a Swedish ballet dancer and choreographer. At 16 he began his professional dance career and joined the Royal Swedish Ballet. One year later he moved to The Netherlands to join the Netherlands Dance Theatre 2 in Den Haag, and after that Cullberg Ballet in Stockholm. After 5 years as a professional dancer when he was 21 he decided to become a choreographer on full-time and began his freelancing career. His choreographies have been performed by Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, the Boston Ballet, the Semperoper Ballett, the Nederlands Dans Theater, the Norwegian National Ballet, the Royal Swedish Ballet, the São Paulo City Ballet, the Sydney Dance Company and the Wiener Staatsballett.
Alexander Ekman, né en 1984, est un danseur de ballet et chorégraphe suédois. À 16 ans, il commence sa carrière de danseur professionnel et rejoint le Ballet royal de Suède. Un an plus tard, aux Pays-Bas il intègre le Netherlands Dance Theatre 2 à Den Haag, puis le Cullberg Ballet à Stockholm. Après 5 ans de danse professionnelle, à l’âge de 21 ans, il décide de devenir chorégraphe à plein temps et commence sa carrière en freelance. Alain Andrea is a Doctor of Pharmacy who graduated from the University of Saint Joseph in Beirut. He specializes in molecular genetics research and is the author of several scientific publications on immuno-oncology and gene therapy. Dr. Andrea who is a piano player at the National Conservatory of Music in Lebanon has developed his critical thinking in the arts and music; he is a music critic and journalist in the French-speaking Lebanese press, and is known for more than a hundred articles featured in Lebanon or abroad.
Alain Andrea est docteur en pharmacie de l’Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth. Spécialisé dans la recherche en génétique moléculaire, il est l’auteur de plusieurs publications scientifiques consacrées au domaine de l’immuno-oncologie et de la thérapie génique. Pianiste de formation au Conservatoire national supérieur de musique du Liban, Dr. Andrea a développé sa pensée critique dans les arts et la musique ; il est critique et journaliste musical dans la presse francophone libanaise, et a à son actif plus d’une centaine d’articles publiés au Liban ou à l’étranger.
آلان أندريا حامل دكتوراه في الصيدلة من جامعة القديس يوسف في بيروت. متخصّص في البحث في علم الوراثة الجزيئيّ، وهو صاحب العديد من المنشورات العلمية في مجال علم الأورام المناعيّ والعلاج الجينيّ. تعلّم الدكتور أندريا العزف على البيانو في المعهد الوطنيّ العاليّ للموسيقى في لبنان، ثمّ طوّر تفكيره النقديّ في الفنون والموسيقى. هو ناقد وصحفيّ موسيقيّ في الصحافة اللبنانية الناطقة باللغة الفرنسية، وفي حوزته أكثر من مائة مقالة منشورة، في لبنان أو في الخارج.
