ENG. Inspired by true events, 3000 Nights tells the story of a newlywed Palestinian schoolteacher who is falsely arrested and incarcerated in an Israeli prison where she gives birth to her son. Through her struggle to raise her child behind bars, the film traces a young mother’s journey of hope, resilience, and survival against all odds.

Inspiré de faits réels, 3000 Nights raconte l’histoire d’une institutrice palestinienne nouvellement mariée qui est injustement arrêtée et incarcérée dans une prison israélienne où elle donne naissance à son fils. À travers sa lutte pour élever son enfant derrière les barreaux, le film retrace le parcours d’espoir, de résilience et de survie d’une jeune mère contre vents et marées.
مستوحى من الأحداث الحقيقية، يحكي فيلم “3000 ليلة” قصّة معلمة فلسطينية متزوجة حديثًا تمّ القبض عليها ظلماً وسجنت في سجن إسرائيليّ حيث أنجبت ابنها. من خلال كفاحها لتربية طفلها خلف القضبان، يتتبّع الفيلم رحلة أمّ شابّة مليئة بالأمل والصمود والبقاء، رغم كل الصعاب.
Film director
Mai Masri is a Palestinian filmmaker who grew up in Beirut. She studied film at San Francisco State University (USA) and directed several award-winning films that have been screened worldwide. She founded Nour Productions in 1995 with her late husband, filmmaker Jean Chamoun. Her films have received over 90 international awards including the Asia Pacific Screen Award in Australia (2007), the Mipdoc Trailblazer Award in Cannes, France (2011) and the El Gouna Film Festival Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019. Her debut feature film, 3000 Nights (2015) was premiered at Toronto International Film Festival and won 28 awards. Her films include: Under the Rubble (1983), Wildflowers (1986), War Generation – Beirut (1989), Children of Fire (1990), Suspended Dreams (1992), Hanan Ashrawi: Woman of Her Time (1995), Children of Shatila (1998), Frontiers of Dreams and Fears (2001), Beirut Diaries (2006), 33 Days (2007), and Beirut: Eye of the Storm (2021).
Mai Masri est une cinéaste palestinienne qui a grandi à Beyrouth. Elle a fait des études de cinéma à la San Francisco State University (États-Unis) et a réalisé plusieurs films primés qui ont été projetés dans le monde entier. Elle a fondé Nour Productions en 1995 avec feu son mari, le cinéaste Jean Chamoun. Ses films ont reçu plus de 90 prix internationaux, dont le Asia Pacific Screen Award en Australie (2007), le Mipdoc Trailblazer Award à Cannes, en France (2011) et le Lifetime Achievement Award du Festival du film d’El Gouna en 2019. Son premier long métrage, 3000 Nights (2015) a été présenté en première au Festival international du film de Toronto et a remporté 28 prix. Hady Zaccak is a Lebanese award-winning filmmaker and a professor-researcher at IESAV film School, Saint-Joseph University, Beirut. He is the author of more than 20 socio-political documentaries about Lebanon and the Arab world. His selective filmography includes: Ya Omri/104 wrinkles (2017) (Jury Award Malmo Arab Film Festival, Sweden, 2017), Kamal Joumblatt, Witness and Martyr (2015) (Francophone Trophy for the best documentary 2016), Marcedes (2011) (FIPRESCI Award (the International Federation of Film Critics)-Dubai International Film Festival 2011), A History Lesson (2009) (1st prize Arab Film Festival-Rotterdam 2010), The War of Peace (2007), Refugees for Life (2006) … In addition to his films, Zaccak is the author of two books on cinema: The Last Film Screening, a biography of Cilama Tripoli (2021) and Lebanese Cinema, an itinerary of a cinema heading towards the unknown (1929-1996) (1997). Hady Zaccak seeks through his work to document the traces of the past in the present and to preserve memory.

En addition à ses films, Zaccak est l’auteur de deux livres sur le cinéma : La Dernière Projection, une biographie de Cilama Tripoli (2021) et Le Cinéma Libanais, itinéraire d’un cinéma vers l’inconnu (1929-1996) (1997).
Hady Zaccak cherche dans son travail à documenter les traces du passé dans le présent et à préserver la mémoire.

Zeina Daccache is a Lebanese actress, theatre and film director and drama therapist. She worked for the TV as an actress from 2003 to 2015. She is the founder and Executive Director of Catharsis – Lebanese Center for Drama Therapy and works as drama therapist in different settings (prisons, rehabilitation centers, etc…). Her work amended several laws in Lebanon. She is recipient of many awards given for her distinguished contributions to the field of social initiatives and services.
Zeina Daccache est une actrice, metteure en scène de théâtre et de cinéma, et drama thérapeute libanaise. Elle a travaillé pour la télévision en tant qu’actrice de 2003 à 2015. Elle est la fondatrice et directrice exécutive de Catharsis – Centre libanais de thérapie théâtrale et travaille comme drama thérapeute dans différents contextes (prisons, centres de réhabilitation, etc.). Son travail a permis de modifier plusieurs lois au Liban. Elle est récipiendaire de nombreux prix décernés pour son engagement et ses initiatives dans les services sociaux.
زينا دكاش هي المؤسِّسَة و المديرة التنفيذية لكثارسيس- المركز اللبناني للعلاج بالدراما و تعمل كمُعالجة بالدراما ومخرجة مسرح وأفلام وثائقية ضمن أطر مختلفة وخاصة مع المجموعات المهمشة. في معظم الحالات، تُؤدي جلسات العلاج بالدراما إلى عمل فني- كالمشاريع المسرحية والافلام الوثائقية الرائدة “12 لبناني غاضب” )2009) و”يوميات شهرزاد” ) 2013( ، “السجناء الزرق” (2021) التي قدّمها عدد من السجناء – تكون بالنسبة للمجموعات الخاصة وسيلة للمُناصرة و لتعديل وإستحداث القوانين وتغيير السياسات والممارسات بحقهم، وبالتالي تُمَكِّنُهم من إيصال رسالتهم إلى المجتمع وصانعي القرار. حصدت العديد من الجوائز المحلية والعالمية لمساهماتها المتميّزة في مجال الخدمات والمبادرات الاجتماعية.
