ENG. The Royal Ballet of Cambodia continues to fascinate audiences around the world, as much for its rigorous standards as for its ability to stand up to the upheavals of Cambodian history, marked in particular by colonization and war. The Perfect Motion retraces the evolution of this dance company, which in 1906 fascinated the sculptor Auguste Rodin to the point of producing a masterly set of some 150 watercolors in just a few days.

Le Ballet Royal du Cambodge ne cesse de fasciner à travers le monde, tant pour son exigence que pour sa capacité à se dresser face aux soubresauts de l’Histoire cambodgienne, marquée notamment par la colonisation et la guerre. The Perfect Motion retrace l’évolution de cette danse, qui fascina en 1906 le sculpteur Auguste Rodin, au point de produire en quelques jours un ensemble magistral de près de 150 aquarelles. 

لا تزال فرقة الباليه الملكية في كمبوديا تبهر الجماهير حول العالم، بفضل أدائها العالي، إلى جانب قدرتها على الصمود في وجه الاضطرابات التي شهدها التاريخ الكمبودي، ولا سيما الاستعمار والحرب. يتتبع الوثائقي الحركة المثالية كيفية تطوّر هذا الفن الراقص الذي أبهر النحات أوغست رودان في العام 1906، حتى أنه أكمل في غضون بضعة أيام مجموعة رائعة من حوالي 150 لوحة مائية.

ENG. Xavier de Lauzanne was born in France in 1970, and began his career in the hospitality industry.
His passion for images led him to buy his first digital camera in 1999, and he went on to produce several reports and documentaries in Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and the Philippines. In 2004, he turned to cinema, developing his first feature-length documentary D’une seule voix, about Israeli and Palestinian musicians brought together by a Frenchman for an extensive tour of France. In 2009, he shot Enfants valises with teenagers from the Maghreb and Central Africa. In 2014, he shot his film Les Pépites in Cambodia, which was released in 2016. This was followed by a trilogy of feature-length documentaries dedicated to the aftermath of Daech in Iraq and Syria. Two of the 3 films have already been released: 9 jours à Raqqa selected for the Official Selection at Cannes 2020; En toute liberté released in March 2023.

Passionné par l’image, il achète sa première caméra numérique en 1999 et réalise plusieurs films reportages et documentaires au Vietnam, en Thaïlande, au Cambodge, au Laos et aux Philippines. En 2004, il passe au cinéma en développant son premier projet de long métrage documentaire D’une seule voix, sur des musiciens israéliens et palestiniens rassemblés par un Français pour une vaste tournée en France. En 2009, il tourne Enfants valises avec des adolescents en provenance du Maghreb et d’Afrique centrale. En 2014, il tourne au Cambodge son film Les Pépites, qui sort au cinéma en 2016. Suivra la réalisation d’une trilogie de longs-métrages documentaires consacrés à l’après Daech en Irak et en Syrie. Deux des 3 films sont déjà sortis : 9 jours à Raqqa retenu dans la Sélection officielle de Cannes 2020 ; En toute liberté sorti en mars 2023.

كزافييه دو لوزان وُلد في فرنسا عام 1970 وبدأ حياته المهنية في مجال الفنادق.
اشترى أول كاميرا رقمية له في عام 1999، وهو الشغوف بعالم الصورة، فأخرج العديد من التقارير الصحفية والأفلام الوثائقية في فيتنام وتايلاند وكمبوديا ولاوس والفلبين. ثم انتقل في العام 2004 إلى السينما، مع أولى أفلامه الوثائقية الطويلة بصوتٍ واحد الذي تدور أحداثه حول موسيقيين إسرائيليين وفلسطينيين جمعهم رجل فرنسي للقيام بجولةٍ كبيرةٍ في فرنسا. في العام 2009، صوّر فيلم أطفال الحقائب مع مراهقين قادمين من دول المغرب ووسط أفريقيا. وفي العام 2014، صوّر فيلمه الفـُتات في كمبوديا الذي عُرض عام 2016. وأعقب ذلك ثلاثية أفلام وثائقية طويلة تتحدّث عن فترة ما بعد حكم داعش في العراق وسوريا، وقد صدر حتى الآن فيلمين من أصل هذه الأفلام الثلاثة: 9 أيام في الرقة الذي وصل إلى مرحلة الاختيار الرسمي في مهرجان كان 2020، وفيلم كامل الحرية الذي صدر في مارس 2023.
