Film Director

Kristen Brown is a Montreal-based director and director of photography working in documentary, fiction, and experimental cinema. Blending the realism of documentary with the stylization and craft of fiction film, her work shows a candid yet authentic vision of the world, whether it be in unscripted or in fictionalized narratives. Kristen was chosen as one of the FCTMN’s emerging directors in 2020 and was the Director of Photography on the Hot Docs 2022 Audience Choice award-winning documentary Dad Can Dance. Kristen also recently worked as Director of Photography and did additional directing on Gespe’gewa’gi: the Last Land, a documentary TV series screening on APTN and CBC gem.

Kristen Brown est une réalisatrice et directrice de la photographie basée à Montréal. Elle travaille dans le documentaire, la fiction et le cinéma expérimental. Fusionnant le réalisme du documentaire avec la stylisation et l’artisanat du film narratif, son travail montre une vision franche mais authentique du monde, que ce soit dans des récits non scénarisés ou fictifs. Kristen a été choisie comme l’une des réalisatrices émergentes du FCTMN en 2020. Elle a été la directrice de la photographie du documentaire Dad can Dance, qui a remporté le prix du public Hot Docs 2022. Kristen a également récemment travaillé comme directrice de la photographie sur Gespe’gewa’gi : the Last Land, une série télévisée documentaire diffusée sur APTN et CBC gem.

كريستن براون مخرجة ومديرة تصوير مقيمة في مونتريال. تعمل في مجال الوثائقيات والخيال والسينما التجريبية. يُبرز عملها الذي يمزج بين واقعية الوثائقي وأسلوب وحرفية الفيلم الروائي، رؤية صريحة إنما صادقة عن العالم، سواء في النصوص غير المصوّرة أو الخيالية.
في العام 2020 اختارت جمعية المرأة في السينما والتلفزيون والوسائط الرقمية FCTMN كريستن براون من بين أفضل المخرجات الصاعدات. وقد تولت إدارة التصوير في الوثائقي بابا يمكنه الرقص الذي حصد جائزة الجمهور في مهرجان هوت دوكس في العام 2022.
