ENG. Can a place be the source of a family’s talent? Swiss filmmaker Susanna Fanzun explores this question by following the artistic path of the Giacometti family, originally from the mountain valley of Bregaglia in Switzerland. The Giacomettis, a dynasty of artists, had a profound impact on the art world. Their father, Giovanni (1868-1933), a painter devoted to Impressionism, played an essential role in laying the family’s artistic foundations. Alberto (1901-1966), famous for his elongated figures, revolutionized modern sculpture. Diego (1902-1985) also left a lasting imprint as a furniture sculptor. Despite their international renown, all remained deeply attached to their native valley, a place whose rugged beauty seems to have nurtured their inspiration and creativity.
FR. Un lieu peut-il être à l’origine du talent familial ? La réalisatrice suisse Susanna Fanzun explore cette interrogation en suivant la trajectoire artistique de la famille Giacometti, originaire de Bregaglia, vallée montagneuse, en Suisse. Les Giacometti, une dynastie d’artistes, ont profondément marqué le monde de l’art. Le père, Giovanni (1868-1933), peintre dévoué à l’impressionnisme, joua un rôle essentiel en posant les bases artistiques de la famille. Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966), célèbre pour ses figures allongées, révolutionna la sculpture moderne. Diego (1902-1985), laissa également une empreinte durable en tant que sculpteur de mobilier. Malgré leur renommée internationale, tous sont restés profondément attachés à leur vallée natale, un lieu dont la beauté sauvage semble avoir nourri leur inspiration et leur créativité.
هل يمكن لمكانٍ ما أن يكون مصدر موهبة عائلةٍ بأسرها؟ تغوص المخرجة السويسرية في هذا السؤال من خلال تتبع السيرة الفنية لعائلة جاكوميتي التي يعود أصلها إلى مدينة بريغاليا الواقعة في أخضان وادٍ محاطٍ بإحدى المناطق الجبلية السويسرية. عائلة جاكومتي هي سلالة من الفنانين الذين تركوا بصماتهم العميقة في عالم الفن. فالوالد جوفاني (1868 – 1933) هو رسام كرّس أعماله للمدرسة الانطباعية ولعب دورًا محوريًا في إرساء الأسس الفنية للعائلة. أما ألبيرتو جاكوميتي (1901 – 1966)، فقد ذاع اسمه بفضل الأشكال الممتدة التي يعتمدها في أعماله، محدثًا ثورةً في عالم النحت الحديث. ودييغو (1902 – 1985)، وهو الآخر، ترك بصمته الثابتة في مجال نحت الأثاث. وعلى الرغم من صيتهم الذي ذاع حول العالم، إلا أنهم ظلّوا جميعهم متمسّكين بالوادي الذي وُلدوا فيه، وهو المكان الذي يبدو وكأن جماله البري هو الذي غذى إلهامهم وابداعهم.

ENG. Susanna Fanzun was born in 1963 in Switzerland. In 1985 she obtained her teacher’s certificate and took courses for radio and television journalists, producers and documentary filmmakers at various schools in Germany and other countries. From 1986 to 2013 she worked at Radiotelevisiun Svizra Rumantscha. In 1997 she started her career as a documentary filmmaker. In addition to several artist portraits, Susanna Fanzun has created various films on everyday life in the Alps: farming, alpine farming, childhood and aging. Her film Kühe, Käse und 3 Kinder premiered in Solothurn in 2015 and received awards at several festivals.
Susanna Fanzun is a member of the Board of Trustees of Pro Helvetia.
FR. Susanna Fanzun est née en 1963 en Suisse. En 1985, elle obtient son diplôme d’enseignante et suit des cours pour journalistes de radio et de télévision, producteurs et réalisateurs de documentaires dans différentes écoles en Allemagne et dans d’autres pays. De 1986 à 2013, elle travaille à la Radiotelevisiun Svizra Rumantscha. Elle débute sa carrière en tant que réalisatrice de documentaires en 1997. Outre plusieurs portraits d’artistes, Susanna Fanzun réalise plusieurs films sur la vie quotidienne dans les Alpes : l’agriculture, l’agriculture alpine, l’enfance et le vieillissement. Son film Kühe, Käse und 3 Kinder a été présenté pour la première fois à Soleure en 2015 et a été récompensé dans plusieurs festivals.
Susanna Fanzun est membre du conseil de fondation de Pro Helvetia.
سوزانا فانزون وُلِدت في سويسرا في العام 1963. في العام 1985 حصلت على درجة الدبلوم التعليمي وتابعت دوراتٍ مخصّصةً للصحافيين في المجال المرئي والمسموع والمنتجين ومخرجي الأفلام الوثائقية في عدة كليات في ألمانيا وغيرها من الدول. بين عامي 1986 و2013، عملت في محطة الراديو والتلفزيون الرومانشية السويسرية. بدأت حياتها المهنية مخرجةً للأفلام الوثائقية في العام 1997. إلى جانب إخراج العديد من الأعمال للفنانين، أخرجت سوزانا فانزون العديد من الأفلام التي تتناول الحياة اليومية في جبال الألب: من الزراعة والزارعة في الألب والطفولة والشيخوخة. وقد عُرض فيلمها أبقار وأجبان و3 أطفال في سولوتورن للمرّة الأولى في العام 2015 وقد فاز بجوائز في العديد من المهرجانات.
