ENG. Goya, Carrière and the Ghost of Buñuel follows French writer and screenwriter Jean-Claude Carrière’s (1931-2021) admiration for the Spanish painter Goya. Filmed by José-Luis López Linares, Carrière takes us on a journey through Spain, discovering the mysteries of a pictorial work that never ceases to fascinate him. A work whose secret lies in its ability to engage in a dialogue with other forms of expression, and to inspire numerous artists, including filmmaker Luis Buñuel, Carrière’s great collaborator and friend. From the museums and chapels we visit, to the painter’s native village, Goya’s shadow looms over this film with such generosity that we, too, can’t help but want to get to the bottom of the secret of this unparalleled work.
FR. Goya, Carrière and the Ghost of Buñuel suit l’admiration de l’écrivain et scénariste français Jean-Claude Carrière (1931-2021) pour le peintre espagnol Francisco Goya. Filmé par José-Luis López Linares, Carrière effectue un périple en Espagne, et nous entraîne à la découverte des mystères d’une œuvre picturale qui ne cesse de le fasciner. Une œuvre dont le secret est d’avoir su dialoguer avec d’autres formes d’expression et d’avoir su inspirer de nombreux artistes, dont le cinéaste Luis Buñuel, grand collaborateur et ami de Carrière. Des musées aux chapelles visités, en passant par le village natal du peintre, l’ombre de Goya plane sur ce film avec une générosité telle que nous ne pouvons qu’avoir envie, nous aussi, de mieux percer le secret de cette œuvre hors pair.
يتبع فيلم غويا، كاريير وشبح بونويلإعجاب المؤلّف وكاتب السيناريو الفرنسيّ جان-كلود كاريير (١٩٣١-٢٠٢١) بالرسّام الإسبانيّ فرانسيسكو غويا. يقوم كاريير برحلة إلى إسبانيا، قام بتصويرها خوسيه لويس لوبيز-ليناريس، ويدعونا إلى اكتشاف أسرار هذا العمل التصويريّ الذي لا يتوقّف أبدًا عن إثارة إعجابه. عملٌ يكمن سرّه في القدرة على التحاور مع أشكال أخرى من التعبير، وكذلك القدرة على إلهام العديد من الفنّانين، بمن فيهم المخرج لويس بونويل، وهو مساعد كبير لكاريير وصديقه. من المتاحف إلى الكنائس التي تمّت زيارتها، مرورًا بالقرية الأمّ للرسّام، يحوم ظلّ غويا فوق هذا الفيلم بسخاء بحيث أنّنا، نحن أيضًا، لا يسعنا إلا أن نرغب في اكتشاف سرّ هذا العمل الذي لا مثيل له بشكل أفضل.
Film Director
José Luis López-Linares is an award-winning documentary filmmaker. He began his career in film as a cinematographer, working with the most relevant Spanish and international directors (Carlos Saura, Fernando Trueba, Jaime Chávarri, Alain Tanner or Víctor Erice). In 1994, he started directing and producing documentaries. His first featured documentary Asaltar los cielos (Ondas Award 1997) is considered a ground-breaking production in the field of Spanish documentary films. Among his latest productions are Bosch. The Garden of Dreams in association with the Prado Museum which has been nominated to the 2016 Goya Awards, 2016 Forqué Awards and the CEC Medal for best documentary.
José Luis López-Linares est réalisateur et producteur de films documentaires. Chef opérateur des films de Carlos Saura, Fernando Trueba, Jaime Chávarri, Alain Tanner et Víctor Erice, depuis 1994, il a produit et dirigé plus de quarante films documentaires, notamment Asaltar Los Cielos (Prix Ondas 1997) Un instante en la vida ajena (Goya pour le Meilleur Documentaire 2004) et Extras (Goya pour le Meilleur Court Documentaire 2005). En 2005 il remporte le Goya de la Meilleure Photographie pour le film Iberia de Carlos Saura. En 2016 sort son film Le Mystère Jérôme Bosch qui a connu un grand succès presse et commercial.
خوسيه لويز لوبيز-ليناريس: مخرج ومنتج أفلام وثائقية. مسؤول مراقبة جودة أفلام كارلوس ساورا وفيرناندو ترويبا وجايمي شافاري وألان تانير وفيكتور إيريس. ومنذ العام 1994، أنتج وأخرج أكثر من أربعين فيلم وثائقي، ولا سيما عاصفة السماوات (جائزة أونداس لعام 1997) و لحظة في حياة شخص آخر (جائزة مهرجان غويا لأفضل وثائقي لعام 2004) وإكستراس (جائزة مهرجان غويا لأفصل فيلم قصير لعام 2005). في العام 2005 حصد جائزة مهرجان غويا لأفضل تصوير فوتوغرافي عن فيلم ايبيريالكارلوس ساورا. في العام 2016 صدر فيلمه لغز جيروم بوش الذي لاقى نجاحاً كبيراً في الأوساط الصحافية وعلى شباك التذاكر.

Rabih Haddad was born in 1961. He is a writer, academic and communications consultant. He teaches cinema and politics, political communication and the memory of war at Saint-Joseph University in Beirut. He runs a string of film clubs. Rabih Haddad holds a master’s degree in modern literature from the USJ in Beirut, an audio-visual director’s diploma from the Conservatoire du Cinéma français and a diploma in art history from the Ecole du Louvre in Paris.
Rabih Haddad, né en 1961, est auteur, universitaire et consultant en communication. Il enseigne Le Cinéma et la Politique, La Communication Politique et La Mémoire de la Guerre à l’Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth. Il anime de nombreux cinéclubs. Rabih Haddad est détenteur d’une maîtrise en Lettres modernes de l’USJ de Beyrouth, d’un diplôme de réalisateur audio-visuel de Conservatoire du Cinéma français et d’un diplôme d’Histoire de l’Art de l’Ecole du Louvre à Paris.
ربيع حداد، من مواليد ١٩٦١، كاتب وأكاديميّ ومستشار إعلاميّ. يدرّس السينما والسياسة والتواصل السياسيّ وذاكرة الحرب في جامعة القديس يوسف في بيروت. يحيي العديد من نوادي السينما. ربيع حداد حائز على كفاءة في الأدب الحديث من جامعة القديس يوسف في بيروت، وشهادة مخرج سمعيّ بصريّ من المعهد الموسيقيّ للسينما الفرنسية، وشهادة في مجال تاريخ الفنّ من كلية لوفر في باريس.
