ENG. Daaaaaalí! is a surreal comedy that delves into the wacky world of Spanish artist Salvador Dalí (1904-1989). Far from the traditional biopic, the film follows an obsessive journalist who seeks to capture the essence of the mythical painter, only to be drawn into a series of situations as goofy as they are confusing. Blending reality and fantasy, Quentin Dupieux celebrates Dalí’s genius in a story about art, creation and surrealism.
FR. Daaaaaalí ! est une comédie surréaliste qui plonge dans l’univers déjanté de l’artiste espagnol Salvador Dalí (1904-1989). Loin du biopic traditionnel, le film suit une journaliste obsessionnelle qui cherche à capturer l’essence du peintre mythique, seulement pour être entraînée dans une série de situations aussi loufoques que déroutantes. Mélangeant réalité et imaginaire, Quentin Dupieux célèbre le génie de Dalí dans un récit autour de l’art, de la création et du surréalisme.
داااااالي! هو عمل درامي سريالي يغوص في العالم المجنون الذي عاش فيه الفنان الاسباني سلفادور دالي (1940 – 1989). بعيدًا عن السرد التقليدي للسيرة الذاتية، يتمحور الفيلم حول صحفيٍ يتملّكه هوس البحث عن جوهر هذا الرسام الأسطوري، حيث يجد نفسه وسط سلسلةٍ من المواقف الهزلية والمُربكة في آن. يمزج كينتان دوبيو في فيلمه بين الواقع والخيال ليحتفي بعبقرية دالي في قصةٍ تدور حول الفن والإبداع والسريالية.

ENG. Quentin Dupieux, born in Paris in 1974, discovered cinema and bought his first synthesizer at the age of 18. Under the name Mr Oizo, he released his track Flat Beat and albums. In 2007, he directed, photographed, edited and composed the music for his first feature film, Steak. He went on to direct the absurdist horror film Rubber (2010) and comedy Wrong, followed by Wrong Cops (2012), Reality (2014), Keep An Eye Out (2018), Deerskin (2019), Mandibles (Venice 2020), Incredible But True (Berlinale 2022), and Smoking Causes Coughing (Midnight Screening – Cannes 2022). In 2023, Yannick is presented at Locarno in competition, while Daaaaaalì! is in Venice a month later.
FR. Quentin Dupieux, né à Paris en 1974, découvre le cinéma et achète son premier synthétiseur à l’âge de 18 ans. Sous le pseudonyme de Mr Oizo, il sort son titre Flat Beat et des albums. En 2007, il réalise, photographie, monte et compose la musique de son premier long métrage, Steak. كانتان دوبيو وُلِد في باريس في العام 1974، بعد تعرّفه إلى عالم السينما، اشترى أول آلة موسيقية الكترونية في عمر الثامنة عشر. استخدم اسمًا مستعارًا هو ’مستر أوزيو‘ وأصدر عمله فلات بيت وعدّة ألبومات. في العام 2007، أصدر فيلمه الطويل الأول ستيك، متوليًا بنفسه الإخراج والتصوير والمونتاج والتأليف الموسيقي. ثم أخرج فيلم الرعب الهزلي المطاط (2010) والفيلم الكوميدي رونغ ثم رونغ كوبس (2012) والحقيقة (2014) واحترس للخارج (2018)، جلد الغزال (2019)، رجل خارق (البندقية 2020)، غير معقول لكن حقيقي (مهرجان برلينالي 2022)، التدخين يُسبّب السعال (فيلم السهرة – مهرجان كان 2022). في العام 2023، شارك فيلم يانيك في مهرجان لوكارنو، وبعد شهرٍ شارك فيلم داااااالي ! في مهرجان البندقية.
