In Jean Cocteau, director Lisa Immordino Vreeland crafts an intimate portrait of this avant-garde legend, interweaving his writings and reflections with an extraordinary collection of archival material

على مدى عقودٍ، ظل جان كوكتو رمزًا للعبقرية، إن في الحياة العامة أو الخاصة: فهو فنان ذو موهبة استثنائية وقدرات إبداعية متعددة المجالات ومعروفٌ بقدرما اختلفت الآراء حوله. كان كاتبًا ومخرجًا مسرحيًا وموهوبًا بمختلف مجالات الرسم ومخرج أفلامٍ ومصمم ديكوراتٍ، وقد أحب حتى الشغف وعانى حتى العمق، لكن الأهم من ذلك كله أن قلبه كان مرتعًا للأحلام وعاش الحياة إلى أقصى حدّها. ترسم المخرجة ليزا إيموردينو فريلاند في فيلم Jean Cocteau  شخصيةً حميميةً عن هذه الأسطورة الطليعية، فتمزج كتاباته وتأملاته مع مجموعةٍ من أرشيف عمله الاستثنائي.

FR. Pendant des décennies, Jean Cocteau a incarné un génie à la fois public et intime : un artiste au talent exceptionnel, à la créativité multiple, reconnu autant qu’il fut contesté. Il écrivait, mettait en scène, dessinait, peignait, réalisait des films et concevait des décors. Il a aimé passionnément et souffert profondément. Mais par-dessus tout, il a rêvé à cœur ouvert et vécu intensément.
Dans Jean Cocteau, la réalisatrice Lisa Immordino Vreeland dresse un portrait intime de cette légende de l’avant-garde, entremêlant ses écrits et réflexions à une collection exceptionnelle d’archives.

ENG. Lisa Immordino Vreeland is a filmmaker and author exploring the worlds of fashion, art, and culture. Her debut documentary, Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel (2012), premiered at Venice and Telluride, winning multiple awards. She followed with the acclaimed films Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict (2015), which screened at BAFF 2016; Love, Cecil (2017), about Cecil Beaton; and Truman & Tennessee: An Intimate Conversation (2020), the latter winning Best Documentary at the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival. Her work has screened at Tribeca, Art Basel, and many prestigious festivals worldwide. She also created the award-winning series Art of Style and continues collaborating with museums, collectors, and galleries.

ليزا إيموردينو فريلاند: مخرجة وكاتبة تغوص في عالم الموضة والفن والثقافة، عُرض فيلمها الوثائقي الأول، Diana Vreeland : The Eye Has to Travel  “ديانا فريلاند: على العين أن تسافر” (2012)، في العرض الأول في معرض البندقية السينمائي ومهرجان تيلورايد السينمائي، حاصدًا العديد من الجوائز. من بعدها أخرجت أفلامًا نالت أراءً إيجابيةً، مثل Peggy Guggenheim : Art Addict  “بيغي غوغنهايم: مدمنة الفن” (2015)، الذي عُرض في العام 2016 ضمن فعاليات مهرجان بيروت للأفلام الوثائقية؛ و Love, Cecil “الحب يا سيسيل” (2017)، الذي يتناول قصة سيسيل بيتون؛ و Truman & Tennessee : An Intimate Conversation  “ترومان وتينيسي: محادثة حميمة” (2020)، الذي فاز بجائزة أفضل فيلمٍ وثائقيٍ في مهرجان سانتا فيه للأفلام المستقلة. كما عُرضت أعمالها في تريبيكا وآرت بازل وغيرها من المهرجانات المرموقة في مختلف أنحاء العالم. كما أنها مؤلّفة سلسلة Art of Style  “فن الأسلوب” الحائزة على العديد من الجوائز وتواصل تعاونها مع المتاحف وجامعي التحف والمعارض الفنية.

FR. Lisa Immordino Vreeland est réalisatrice et autrice, explorant les mondes de la mode, de l’art et de la culture. Son premier documentaire, Diana Vreeland : The Eye Has to Travel (2012), a été présenté en avant-première à la Mostra de Venise et au Festival de Telluride, remportant de nombreuses récompenses. Elle a ensuite réalisé les films acclamés Peggy Guggenheim : Art Addict (2015), projeté au BAFF en 2016 ; Love, Cecil (2017), consacré à Cecil Beaton ; et Truman & Tennessee : An Intimate Conversation (2020), qui a reçu le prix du Meilleur documentaire au Santa Fe Independent Film Festival. Ses œuvres ont été présentées à Tribeca, Art Basel, ainsi que dans de nombreux festivals prestigieux à travers le monde. Elle est également la créatrice de la série primée Art of Style et poursuit ses collaborations avec des musées, collectionneurs et galeries.
