ENG. Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk is my response, as a filmmaker, to the ongoing massacre of Palestinians. A miracle happened when I met Fatma Hassona. She became my eyes in Gaza, where she resisted while documenting the war, and I became a link between her and the world, from her “Gaza prison”, as she named it. We maintained this line of life for almost a year. The bits of sound and pixel that we exchanged became the film that you see. The killing of Fatma on April 16th, 2025, due to an Israeli raid on her house, changes its meaning forever. Sepideh Farsi

باعتباري مخرجةً سنيمائيةً يتحول فيلم Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk “ضع روحك على كفّك وانطلق” إلى إجابةٍ على المجزرة المستمرة ضد الفلسطينيين. لقد كان تعرّفي إلى فاطمة حسونة بمثابة المعجزة، إذ أصبحت عينيّ اللتين أتطلع بهما إلى غزّة، حيث كانت تجابه ما يحدث مع توثيق مجريات الحرب. بالمقابل أصبحتُ أنا صلة الوصل بينها وبين العالم وهي في “سجن غزّة”، كما تُوَصَفها. لقد حافظنا على حبل الحياة هذا لما يقرب العام، ثمّ تحوّلت المقاطع الصوتية والصور المُجزّأة التي كنا نتبادلها إلى الفيلم الذي نشاهده اليوم. إن لمقتل فاطمة يوم 16 نيسان/إبريل 2025 جرّاء غارةٍ إسرائيليةٍ على منزلها وقعٌ يُغيّر مغزى الفيلم رأسًا على عقب. سبيدة فارسي.

FR. Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk est ma réponse, en tant que cinéaste, au massacre continu des Palestiniens. Un miracle s’est produit lorsque j’ai rencontré Fatma Hassona. Elle est devenue mes yeux à Gaza, où elle résistait tout en documentant la guerre, et je suis devenue un lien entre elle et le monde, depuis sa “prison de Gaza”, comme elle l’appelait. Nous avons maintenu ce fil de vie pendant près d’un an. Les fragments de sons et de pixels que nous échangions sont devenus le film que vous voyez aujourd’hui. La mort de Fatma, tuée le 16 avril 2025 lors d’un raid israélien sur sa maison, change à jamais le sens de ce film. Sepideh Farsi

ENG. Sepideh Farsi is an Iranian director. She experienced the revolution at 13, was imprisoned at 16 as a dissident, and left her native Iran at 18. Based in Paris since then, she has studied mathematics, taken photos, and made some fifteen films — documentaries, fiction, and animation — among which Tehran Without Authorization (Locarno), Red Rose (TIFF), and The Siren, a feature animation that deals with the Iran-Iraq war, which was the opening film of Berlinale Panorama and has won numerous awards since. She is currently working on an “Iranian Western” film project, and also developing an animation project inspired by her life, called Memoirs of an Undutiful Girl, all the while fighting for the instauration of democracy in Iran.

سبيدة فارسي، مخرجة إيرانية عاشت حقبة الثورة وهي في سن الثالثة عشر، وتعرّضت للسجن بسن السادسة عشر بسبب معارضتها، ثم غادرت مسقط رأسها في سن الثامنة عشر لتستقر في باريس مُذّاك، حيث درست الرياضيات ومارست التصوير الفوتوغرافي وأخرجت حوالي خمسة عشر فيلمًا – تتراوح بين الوثائقي والروائي والرسوم المتحركة. ومن بين أشهر أعمالها، Tehran Without Authorization  “طهران دون تصريح” (مهرجان لوكارنو)؛  Red Rose  “الزهرة الحمراء”  (مهرجان تورونتو الدولي للأفلام)؛ The Siren “صفارة الإنذار” وهو فيلم رسوم متحركة طويل يدور حول الحرب الإيرانية العراقية الذي كان الفيلم الافتتاحي في قسم البانوراما ضمن فعاليات مهرجان برلينالي وحصد العديد من الجوائز منذ ذلك الحين. تعمل حاليًا على مشروع فيلمٍ يُصنّف ضمن الأفلام “الإيرانية الغربية”، بالإضافة إلى مشروع رسوم متحركة مستوحىً من حياتها تحت عنوان Memoirs of an Undutiful Girl  “يوميات فتاةٍ عاقّة”. وبالموازاة لا تزال تناضل من أجل إرساء نظامٍ ديمقراطيٍ في إيران.

FR. Sepideh Farsi est une réalisatrice iranienne. Elle a vécu la révolution à l’âge de 13 ans, a été emprisonnée à 16 ans en tant que dissidente, et a quitté son pays natal à 18 ans. Installée à Paris depuis, elle a étudié les mathématiques, pratiqué la photographie, et réalisé une quinzaine de films — documentaires, fictions et films d’animation. Parmi ses œuvres les plus remarquées figurent Tehran Without Authorization (Locarno), Red Rose (TIFF) et The Siren, un long-métrage d’animation sur la guerre Iran-Irak, film d’ouverture de la section Panorama à la Berlinale, plusieurs fois primé depuis.
Elle travaille actuellement sur un projet de film qualifié de « western iranien », ainsi que sur un projet d’animation inspiré de sa propre vie, intitulé Memoirs of an Undutiful Girl. Parallèlement, elle continue de se battre pour l’instauration de la démocratie en Iran.
